How can I help you?
Just starting to search for a counsellor takes courage - it is a big, first step. Life may feel overwhelming and too much for you to cope with alone. You may be suffering from a loss, struggling with events from the past, or family relationships may be troubling you. Perhaps life has thrown you something you weren't expecting or you are finding life changes difficult to cope with. This could result in anxiety and/or low mood, or you could feel flat and lack purpose. We then tend to withdraw from others and try to cope alone, not wanting to worry anyone. Thoughts dominate and we can't escape them. A relationship of trust and collaboration with your counsellor can help you to find your own answers and gain insights into what could produce change. The work is not easy and can be uncomfortable. There are no easy solutions but exploring difficulties with someone impartial and non-judgmental can empower us to face current and future challenges. Even one session can start to nurture small shifts in perspective and help to reconnect you with your authentic self.

My Approach
I am an experienced BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist. My core training is person-centered and integrative which means that I draw on other compatible therapeutic models according to your needs. I provide a warm and confidential space for us to look at your challenges and work towards achievable goals. I will not direct you as you are the expert on you but I will support you and be alongside you as you find your own answers. It is the therapeutic relationship which becomes the foundation for positive change. By listening to you, empathically and sensitively, and genuinely seeing you as an individual, we can explore and make sense of your particular concerns.
I offer short term and long term therapy. It is important that you find the right fit with your counsellor and so I offer a free introductory brief call to see if you think we would work well together. We can then arrange a regular time each week. The fee per full hour session is £55. Concessions are available for students. Please use the contact form below to get in touch. I always aim to get back to you within 24 hours but please check spam/junk mail boxes. If you leave your phone number I will just text a message to tell you that I have sent you an email.
