How can I help you?

Just starting to search for a counsellor takes courage - it is a big first step.  Life may be feeling too much for you to cope with alone.  You may be suffering from a loss, struggling with events from the past, or family relationships may be troubling you.  Or perhaps life has thrown you something you weren't expecting or you are finding change difficult.  This could result in anxiety and/or low mood, or you could be feeling flat and lack purpose.  We can then withdraw from others and try to manage alone, not wanting to worry anyone with our problems. Thoughts dominate, we can't escape them.  A relationship of trust and collaboration with your counsellor can help you to find some relief and to gain insights into what could produce change. The work is not easy and can be uncomfortable as you start to be curious about how and why you react to others.

Exploring difficulties with someone impartial and nonjudgmental can empower us to face current and future challenges.  Even one session can start to nurture small shifts in perspective and help to re connect you with your authentic self.

My Approach

I am an experienced BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist.  My core training is person-centered and integrative which means that I draw on other compatible therapeutic models according to your needs.  I provide a warm and confidential space for us to look at your challenges and work towards achievable goals.  I will not direct you as you are the expert on you, but I will support you and be alongside you as you find your own answers.  It is the therapeutic relationship which becomes the foundation for positive changes. By listening to you, empathically and sensitively, and genuinely seeing you as an individual, we can make sense of your particular concerns.

I offer short term and long term therapy.  It is important that you find the right fit with your counsellor so I offer a free introductory brief call to see if you think we would work well together.  If so, we can then arrange a regular time.

The fee per full hour session is £55.

Concessions are available for students.  Please use the contact form below to get in touch.  I always aim to get back to you within 24 hours, but please check spam/junk email boxes.  If you leave your phone number I will just text a message to let you know that I have sent you an email.
